OMG- I made it back!

Oh my word! I am SOOOO excited! Since the middle of April I haven't been able to get into Google...any way- any how! I couldn't access my own blog or Google Friend Connect- no Google alerts or anything! Huge bummer! I couldn't post to my own blog or follow any other blogs. It was awfully frustrating! Then today I got my first google alaert in 4 months...which wasn't important but it did alert me that maybe Google liked me again!! So I tried signing into my blog and here I am! I feel like I just hit the mega-bucks!
Of course I have to say that I am not to techy so probably someone else would have figured it out way sooner...but for me its a win!
I'm so glad to be back and back in the blog game! For some reason Google doesn't want me to post pictures but what the hey-- I'm closer than I was yesterday! Some days its the simple things that matter, right? I missed you guys and hope you are all having a great summer! Rhonda

As many of you know I just love entering sweepstakes and contests...and of course I love winning! I used to subscribe to a couple of sweepstakes newsletters but I found it very pricey and decided with all the info available on the web that I'd be better off using my dollars in stamps. But then I found an online yahoo group by Judye Briggs called SnailsOnly. That's a little deceptive though since it is not snails only but every way imaginable! She lists snail, online, phone and text entry sweeps. So if you're looking for a cheaper way to get sweepstakes info I thought I'd pass this on.You can sign up free but be aware that she sends a lot. As an old Elvis fan I find it hard to believe how long he has been gone. Its another one of those moments where I remember exactly where I was when I heard the news. We used to love to do the "jitterbug" dance to a lot of Elvis songs, but one particular favorite was "Wear My Ring Around Your Neck". I wonder now- do girls still wear their fellers ring around their neck? LOL

Well, of course I love chocolates so I entered and was surprised and pleased when I got a message from @leapgear that I'd won! As a child growing up on a farm in rural Maine we always made our own maple syrup in the springtime.It was a lot of work to tap the trees, gather the sap buckets and tote them to the sugar shack where we boiled the sap into syrup. But it was also a lot of fun! Maple syrup was more like a condiment back then. We used it on pancakes, biscuits, ice cream and it was added to apple pies. That was a lot of good eating!

Reynolds Wrap Discovery

No, of course I didn't just discover Reynolds Wrap! I was first married on 1/20/68 and have been using it for all those 42 years. Not only do I bake with it, I line my paint tray for easy cleanup, I have made helmets for Halloween costumes and even used it for emergency gift wrap! So obviously, I love Reynolds Wrap! But I have always had one complaint: You know when you grab the box in your right hand and pull out the foil- it just jumps out of the box and unrolls its way to the floor!Then its almost impossible to get back in the box with the box flaps getting in the way! GRRR!! ( Now I'm wondering why I hold it in my right hand in the first place- being right handed!) WELL-- hold the fort! Go get your box- right now.....I'll wait......

Got it? Now look at the end of the box:

See that little triangle that says "PRESS HERE TO LOCK ROLL"??? When the heck did they add that? OMG! The box also tells me that Reynolds Wrap has been trusted since 1947!! I sure hope that tab wasn't there all those years and I totally missed it! If you didn't know either please leave a comment because right now I am feeling pretty numb! ;-)
